The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:17, KJV
Normally when I think of my Father watching over me I think in terms of Him protecting me at all times, even while I sleep. This morning He wanted me to know that while He does keep watch over me, the reality is the adversary has been defeated and has no more power over me…thanks to Jesus. Therefore my Father watches me mostly out of pure delight. Much in the way a parent silently watches a sleeping baby, enjoying the rise and fall of his breathing while dreaming of all you hope for him. Well, my Father watches me day and night quietly pondering the plans He has for me sandwiched between expressions of His joy and delight in the saving work of Jesus that brought me back to Him. Oh He watches me alright, not out of duty but pure delight!
Your Father loves you and delights in you to the point of breaking out in song. How exciting is that! That’s an awesome truth to let roll around your mind until it makes itself at home in your heart.
