Reality Check

Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.  Proverbs 19:21, NIV

As we move closer to Election Day here in America, I feel the need to share my heart on this truth from Scripture.  If you are in Christ, the future of your family is in His hands.  He knows the plans He has for you, your spouse and your children and they are GOOD.  Furthermore, what He’s planned WILL come to pass.  People have all kind of agendas and make all kinds of promises, some well-intended, but the bottom line is: no man’s policy dictates the believer’s outcome.  We are not of this world’s system or at the mercy of its fallen wisdom.  We are new creations in Christ, protected by His favor.

Our vote neither endears us to the Lord nor mandates our future or those of our lineage.  Our personal and our family’s success, in every area of life, are because of Christ and Him alone.  He is our provision, He is our health, and He is our strength and shield.  We are not depending on people to meet our needs, we are in the Lord’s care and He is our keeper.  He opens doors that no man can open and closes doors that no man can close.  He is the same Lord that commanded ravens to feed the prophet Elijah and prospered Isaac in the midst of famine.

The Lord loves you perfectly so don’t be fearful of the outcome of this election.  Just vote as the Lord leads you.  Everything always has and will always be about Jesus Christ…whether politicians know it or not.
