How God Told My Conscience to shhh

This morning I read a devotional based on Hebrews 10:17.   It’s an awesome promise to believers declaring God will never, ever remember (be mindful of and punish) our sins because Christ carried and paid them ALL in full.  Later, the writer leads the reader in a prayer acknowledging Christ bore the condemnation our sin deserved so that God will not condemn us (or remember our sins).

Immediately, my conscience snickered, “That’s not fair to Jesus.”

Before guilt could make itself at home, a still small Voice said, “It’s not fair… it’s Love.”

My conscience “took a knee” and I swallowed hard, the revelation of perfect Love sinking in deeper than it ever had before.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.  John 15:13
