He Said, WHAT???

There are so many articles out these days about tips and tricks to find success and capture an audience.  You’ve seen them: “must do…,” “top 10…,” “5 easy ways….”  You read them because, if you’re like me, you don’t want to reinvent the wheel.  You want to learn from people who’ve already traveled that road and learn from their successes.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve found trying to implement those “strategies” overwhelming. I think it’s because while some of the tips are common practice, others are unique to the individual and most are time-consuming to implement.  Then there’s the test and trial of figuring out who’s method may, I say may, work for you.  On top of that, there’s the question of how that person defines success and if you define it likewise.  Doing what they did to have what they have – when it’s not your idea of success, is pointless.

So for me, it all comes back to the “why behind the what.”

Last month I took a “vacay” from blogging and other writing projects to refocus.  To seek the One who called me to blogging, authorship and any number of things I’m currently doing and ask, “Where to next, Jesus? People say do ‘this’ and ‘that,’ but what do You say?  What is Your vision for me?  What have You planned for me in this moment in time?”

jeremiah-2911

There is no doubt the Lord wants me to prosper in every way (3 John verse 2).  Everything Jesus does prospers so what He does through me will prosper, and prosper me in turn.  As we talked about passions He’s given me, and the issue of timing and opportunity, while prioritizing my roles as wife, mother and manager of our home, I sought His counsel and His wisdom.  Honestly, at the end of the day, the Lord made me, and He knows the best path for me.  And you know the best part?  His instruction doesn’t overwhelm me!

Jesus doesn’t deal in formulas; He deals in relationships.

The funny thing is, what He told me didn’t appear on any of those lists I’d read!  That’s the beauty of relationship with Jesus…it’s not cookie cutter.  He has a unique vision for the unique individuals He’s created!

One of the things He’s led me to do is launch something He told me about months ago, though it wasn’t the right time.  This is the time and it’s what He wants me to do.  It’s new territory for me, but I’m taking the leap.  Here goes…

DRUM ROLL PLEASE…

I’ve started designing inspirational t-shirts! For right now I’m doing text graphics based on truths shared in DADDY’s Girl Forever. Graphic design is all new to me, so it will be interesting to see where Jesus takes me on this adventure!

But, before I wrap this up I just want to encourage you in the love of Jesus.  Trust Him to shepherd and lead you into the good things He has for YOU!  Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place (Proverbs 16:3, MSG).

Have a great week and many thanks for all your love and support!

  1. Want to wish you all the very best with this venture. With so much going on you can miss what you really should be doing. Thanks for reminding me to come back to Jesus and keep believing it will all work out in the end.

    1. Aww Lorraine, thank you!

It’s good to be reminded that what the Lord says to me is something He may well be saying to others, so I’d better share😉. I applaud your blog’s focus and look forward to seeing more from you!
