No Grade, Only Grace

I overthink.  I overthink everything and I don’t think I’m alone.

Sometimes, it’s my sense of responsibility, trying to make the best possible decision.  Mostly, I’m just overthinking because I feel like I’m being graded in the perpetual school of life.  Good students, like me, want good grades so we check, double-check, and triple check to make sure we score well.

Where there is grace, there’s no grading.  There…is…NO…grading.

It’s the key to a life of faith, a life lived on the Vine.  Faith flows where there’s no fear of a grade.  Faith that the same One graded in my place, now gives me grace in abundance.

Jesus scored what I never could while suffering the grade I deserved.

He poured out His life so I could receive the grace and truth contained within (John 1:14).  And it’s only when I live by His grace, that I’m free to believe the promises of my God.  I’m free to walk circumspectly in this world, certain of my outcome.

Thank God for grace in the person of Jesus Christ!

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God—  Ephesians 2:8, NRS
