A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. —Proverbs 18:24
Jesus is close to you. He can’t be any closer. He wants to do life with you, leading you in straight, smooth paths of blessing and victory. But that requires trust, and trust is difficult, especially when people have wounded you deeply. Mistakenly, you reason from earth to heaven, framing Jesus based on your experiences with mere mortals.
So how do you get to know the Truth, to know His heart? It starts with talking with Him about any and everything. Jesus loves the role of confidante and can handle whatever is in your heart. He already knows it all and wants you to trust Him with it.
I’ve been raw with Jesus, and He’s never responded with “shock and awe” or a scowl, only love and grace.
Tell Him about all of it: the big and the small, your highs and lows. As you do, you’ll see Jesus work out the things concerning you. Your confidence in Him builds and, eventually, you trust Him with your whole life!
