One of the gifts my daughter received for Christmas is a book titled, She Persisted. It contains inspiring stories chronicling several women who pushed pass obstacles and nay-sayers to achieve amazing accomplishments. I’ll admit. Reading it with her encouraged me during my final push in publishing my second book. You’d think self-publishing the second time around would be much smoother. Think again—especially when you’re following the Lord’s lead.
The enemy is nothing if not persistent. He’d have loved nothing more than wearing me down with challenges and doubt. He had me putting out so many last-minute “fires” I thought I was playing “publishing whack-a-mole!”
Did Jesus Really Lead Me to Write This Devotional?
…we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4
Doesn’t he read the Manual? Or did he forget afflicting me fosters perseverance. So, I persisted. Holding to God’s promise, confident of my position in Christ and the purpose of this new book.
Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop
The fight wasn’t about me, but about the women the devotional will reach and the transformation in their lives as they draw nearer to God. Stopping me, would mean stopping them. And my DADDY would have none of that!
So when you step out and do what the Lord calls you to—expect a fight, but know that the fight is fixed. You win because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (see 1 John 4:4)!
“So when you step out and do what the Lord calls you to—expect a fight, but know that the fight is fixed” Wow! I’ll keep this in mind. Thanks
