As an introvert who married and man in the military, I’m painfully aware of the challenges of connecting with people when you move often.
I don’t need a lot of friends (hence the introvert part), but I DO need in-person connection. Social media “friendships” don’t cut it and my established friends live in other parts of the country.
So, when we settled down after my husband retired from the military, I looked forward to making friends I could look in the eye, slap their arm while falling over in laughter, and shed tears as we share our hearts.
It’s been a long time coming, but yesterday I did all the above with two women I feel like I’ve known all my life.
Jesus gives people to do life with. People who accept and enjoy you as you are. People like you, though just different enough to expose you to different perspectives and better methods.
