FOG: Focus on Gratitude Day 11

“I need to fold these sheets and towels TODAY. But I’ve got to get to two grocery stores for “big shopping,” so I’ll get to the laundry later. Oh! Is that dust on my husband’s side table? I just dusted the other day! Not to mention the kitchen floor could use mopping. And oh, I have some business to address later before I do some writing, hopefully more than just today’s blog post. Man, I need to get going, my oldest will be home from school before I know it.”

This is not like me. I’m efficient. When did I become so out of sorts?

I’m grateful…

Determination.

The last attribute of my flesh I could point to when my son asked me about my best quality—breathed its last breath. That left me unsettled. I really can’t put any confidence in my flesh. Now at the end of myself, I must depend on Jesus’ perfect resolve. “Because guess what,” whispered DADDY God, “you never had anything to prove.”
