FOG: Focus on Gratitude Day 23

It took a minute to think of something I’m grateful for. Well, to clarify, there are MANY things I’m grateful for daily: salvation, food, shelter, clothing, etc. But in these 31 days I want to touch on the things that don’t readily come to mind.

I was stuck until I went back through the day and remembered this morning’s get ready for school shuffle.

When it comes to style my three kiddos are a unique cast of characters. One has a uniform approach, a monochromatic look every day. One vacillates between a monochromatic look and clashing colors, and another one just keeps you guessing! And it used to drive me crazy.

I’m grateful…

Today I looked at it from another angle. In an age where peer pressure takes on a scarier meaning than when I was a kid, my children are individuals. They have their ways of presenting themselves to the world, they won’t be talked out of. Believe me, I’ve tried (chuckles).

And that boldness will serve them well as they live on for Christ in a world increasing the pressure to conform.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139:14

So this morning I complimented them on their style. Because individuality should exist in the midst of community. And besides, they wore it well!
