I’m new to the world of TED Talks, and a few surprised me over the past year.

Today I watched a couple talks by Drew Dudley, a renowned speaker and author on all things leadership. And what he shared about leadership gave me pause because the only other leader I heard approach leadership from that angle said it this way…

I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. Genesis 12:2

In short, you are blessed to be a blessing.

And while Drew (I feel like we’re cool now so I can call him Drew) didn’t use those words, he did share how the hierarchical nature of the educational system taints us from seeking the mark of an impactful life—adding value.

Not accumulating titles, money, or social media likes, but in the every day of life adding value to the people you encounter because you live from a place of abundance.

It’s the Jesus way of life.

I’m grateful…

I don’t know if Drew is a believer, but Jesus sure used him to remind me what really matters in a world screaming the contrary. Be the blessing you are, where you are. That’s something worthy of a great name.
