FOG: Focus on Gratitude Day 27

This morning I drove my oldest to the final basketball tryout for the Freshman team.

And I marveled at how far he’s come. He’s always had the talent. He gets it honest from my husband, but he lacked discipline. And it held him back.

There’s something about the summer between 8th and 9th grade.

Hours logged on the basketball court. Using chore earnings toward a trainer and heeding his instructions. Exceeding the coach’s expectations from day one this school year.

Nothing we hadn’t told him before, but now he held the ideas as his own.

I’m grateful…

He’s becoming a wonderful young man, by God’s grace, not our nagging.

All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54:13

Any welcome surprises you notice in your children?
