People are messy in our thoughts and actions. And dealing with each other makes, well—a mess of things. So HOW do we overcome all that to establish transparent relationships?…
Father, we thank You for drawing us near through your Son. You made it clear how much You love us through sacrificing your best to redeem the worst in us. And You keep pursuing us daily, desiring our trust, seeking intimacy with us. And though we resist, You still pursue us.
Your love is relentless.
But relationships with people are tricky. It’s hard to be vulnerable with people who aren’t noble and self-sacrificing like You. We all have issues and bumping our wounds into one another hurts. So, we stay closed off, Father, struggling to reflect the cross: relating to others based on our relationship with You.
But you’ve given us your feathers, a safe place for refuge.
You cover us with those wings while we’re transparent with others. Because of You, we’re never exposed even when we’re vulnerable. The truth about your love and acceptance surrounds us as our shield and buckler.
You assure us you’ll never abandon or reject us. So even when we experience people’s rejection—we’re never rejected. We’re secured in our identity in Christ and our position in Him.
Now, we know we’re not meant to connect with everyone, but for those you’ve called us to do life with, help us drop our masks by the power of your Holy Spirit.
We ask You for the intimacy You intend in our marriages. We ask for the legacy of love You desire for our families. We ask You for the grace we need within God-appointed friendships.
And because you’re Alpha and Omega, everything starts and ends with You. So, where we sport a mask in our relationship with You—reveal it Lord. Keep pursuing us till we lay bare before You.
Then give us wisdom on how much and with whom to share with others.
Thank You for hearing us and healing us everywhere we hurt. It’s in Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Prayer inspired by Psalm 91:4.
Here at Vine Life Faith, we pray God’s Word to enjoy God’s will because His Word contains the words He’s obligated to. While we pray inspired by a particular verse, the prayer references multiple verses as the Lord leads. God bless you.
You prayed my heart. Thanks
