VINE PRAYER: PRAY GOD’S WORD TO MOVE FROM SUSPICION TO SURRENDER

One of the hardest things to keep straight is the Lord is nothing like the people we run into every day. He is altogether different. He is God. He is trustworthy.

Father we thank You for this day you’ve made and for waking us up to see it. You’ve been good to us. Showing us kindness we don’t deserve because You delight in blessing your children.

And it grieves You when we doubt your heart toward us.

Day after day we live guarded in a world promoting and pursuing self-destruction. And we’ve allowed the cruelty of this world to color how we see You. We forget though this world is fallen, You are not. There’s no darkness in You at all.

Your plans for us are good because You are good.

We’re sorry for doubting your heart. Daily You call us to the table You prepared for us in the presence of our enemy, but we’ve resisted—making up foolish excuses. Yet You still draw us because You know there’s no satisfaction, no life, apart from You.

Today we turn from suspicion to surrender.

Holy Spirit give us the wisdom to walk circumspectly in our dealings with people but compel us to surrender to our DADDY. We humble ourselves before You because the way we think is right, the tendency of our nature—leads to death.

But Father, You call us to feast at your table forever.

And we praise You as our Abba Father who gives good gifts for your children to enjoy. Help us trust in You with all our heart. Help us see You as You really are.

It’s in the name of your son, Jesus, who gives full access to your table, we pray. Amen.

Prayer inspired by Luke 14:33.

Here at Vine Life Faith, we pray God’s Word to enjoy God’s will because His Word contains the words He’s obligated to. While we pray inspired by a particular verse, the prayer references multiple verses as the Lord leads. God bless you and share this prayer with those who need it.
