Lord, we thank You for the deliverance we’re experiencing. We’re watching You raise the standard, the blood of Jesus, against the enemy’s attacks and we praise You for how You send him running. Thank You for being the mighty warrior who saves.
But the enemy goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
And we don’t want to get free just to end up bound by his lies again. We don’t want to be devoured. We ask You to make us downright unpalatable.
So, we come to You, Jesus, our stronghold.
And we ask that by your Holy Spirit, we become prisoners of hope. We’ve been prisoners of fear. We’ve been prisoners of doubt. We’ve been prisoners of anger, lust, greed—You name it.
But today we identify as prisoners of hope.
If we live chained, it will be to hope—not in people, things, or desired outcomes, but in who You are, Jesus, and what You finished for us.
We base our hope in your heart, not in your hand, because sometimes we don’t understand the works of your hand. Sometimes our circumstances distort how we see You move.
But the cross shows us your heart. And since that’s a settled work, we know your heart towards us forever.
We bind our hope to you because your way is perfect, and You are a shield to all who trust in You.
And this hope will not disappoint, because You poured your love in our hearts by the Holy Spirit You gave us.
So, God of all hope, fill us with all joy and peace in believing, that we may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
It’s in your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen!
