VINE PRAYER: PRAY GOD’S WORD TO GET UNSTUCK FROM PAST MISTAKES

Lord God, the great I Am, You are the same, yesterday, today and forevermore. You don’t change because You are perfect in all your ways. And though You stay the same, You never leave us the same.

We are works in progress.

We are your masterpieces created for good works You planned long ago. But sometimes we get stuck in the processing—trapped in the quicksand of guilt and regret.

The enemy roars like a lion repeating his wicked refrain, trying to convince us we’ve messed up beyond your salvation…

“Jesus can’t restore THIS relationship, heal THOSE wounds or turn THAT situation around! And even if He could—why would He? You’ll just mess up another way!”

But the entrance of your word gives light!

Your word says nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord—neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

If You are for us, who can be against us?

And, Lord, if we’re against ourselves, by refusing to forgive ourselves—sever the ties binding us to unforgiveness.

We can’t move forward tied to what’s behind us.

So, we ask You to help us learn the lessons from yesterday’s mistakes while letting go of guilt and regret. Lord, give us courage to forgive ourselves, to move forward with You.

We thank You for new mercies and fresh favor, for hope without ceasing and love everlasting.

It’s in Jesus’ great name, we pray. Amen!

Prayer inspired by Philippians 3:13.

Here at Vine Life Faith, we pray God’s Word to experience God’s will because His words are the only ones He’s obligated to keep. While we pray inspired by a particular verse, the prayer references multiple verses as the Lord leads. You’re welcome to share this prayer and if it blesses you or someone you know—say so in the comments below. God bless you!
