HOW TO PRAY THE WORD OF GOD TO QUENCH YOUR THIRST

As a deer pants for the streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Where can I go and meet with You?

The wells of this world leave me wanting.

I drank from them so often and so long, and yet, they left me thirsty.

LORD, You are greater than even the well I inherited from my ancestors. While their understanding of You, their walk with You satisfied them, it leaves me thirsty for more.

Why am I downcast, in my soul? Why am I so disturbed within me?

Because I need more.

So, I put my hope in You, God. I will yet praise You my Savior and my God.

Because when I drink of the water You give, I will never thirst.

The water You give me becomes a fountain of water springing up to eternal life. And then out of my belly will flow living waters, watering many.

Give me that water Jesus, so I will never look to the wells of man again but tell them of the water I found instead.

I put my hope in You, Jesus. I praise You, my Savior and my God. To You belongs the glory now and forever. Amen.

Prayer inspired by Psalm 42:1.

Here at Vine Life Faith, we pray God’s Word to experience God’s will because His words are the only ones He’s obligated to keep. While we pray inspired by a particular verse, the prayer references multiple verses as the Lord leads. You’re welcome to share this prayer and if it blesses you or someone you know—say so in the comments below. God bless you!

Speaking life to moms…

On the Motherhood Unmasked podcast.

Compassion, candor, and clarity for the mom craving real talk.

Motherhood is a calling that’s hard enough. Don’t do it weighed down by guilt and public opinion.

Isn’t it time you raise your kids unapologetically and unmasked?
