We exalt You, O LORD, because You lifted us out of the depths and did not let our enemies gloat over us.
O LORD, our God, we called to You for help and You healed us.
Because You brought us up from the grave, sparing us from going down into the pit of despair.
When we felt secure, we said we will never be shaken, but when we couldn’t see your face, we were dismayed.
To You, LORD, we called for mercy.
Because what do You gain from our destruction, in our going down into the pit? We call out to You even now.
Thank You for hearing us, Oh LORD, for being merciful to us and being our help!
You heard our grief and comforted all who mourn.
You turned our mourning into dancing. You gave us beauty for ashes, and the oil, the anointing of joy for mourning.
Yes, You removed our sackcloth and clothed us with joy.
Instead of our shame, You gave us a double portion of honor and a double portion inheritance in You.
Everlasting joy is our portion.
May our hearts sing to You and not be silent. Oh LORD, our God, we give You thanks—forever.
It’s in your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Prayer inspired by Isaiah 61:3.
Here at Vine Life Faith, we pray God’s Word to experience God’s will because His words are the only ones He’s obligated to keep. While we pray inspired by a particular verse, the prayer references multiple verses as the Lord leads. You’re welcome to share this prayer and if it blesses you or someone you know—say so in the comments below. God bless you!
