It’s funny how in motherhood you find grace for your mother—and yourself. The idea of motherhood, for some, is quite different from the reality. The desire to love whole-heartedly lives in tension with the reality of loving from a heart full of holes. You can’t give what slips through your fingers—and hurt begets hurt, the cycle of pain continues. But if allowed, Jesus fills that girl’s void; supplying grace to love her own children and compassion for a mother who couldn’t give what she didn’t have. He did it for this girl, and He’ll do it for you.
There’s no such thing as a perfect mother, but a mother who knows she’s loved much, loves her children much.
