For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17
To answer your question, He most certainly loves you. He loves you so, He reveals Himself, His heart in the person of His Son, His true reflection.
In dare I say, vulnerability, He extends Himself. Hands and heart extended He offers the most excellent Gift asking, “Will you receive this?”
Our hands clenched in fear, cramped from holding on too tightly to the rails of the rollercoaster called life think, “Can I risk letting one hand go long enough to grab hold of this Gift? How can a mere Child save me?”
The Gift arrived as a child by design, unassuming, non-threatening, yet full of glory nonetheless. There’s nothing like a baby born in poverty, pulling at your heart, drawing you in. You go to comfort but when you draw close to this Babe, He whispers sweetly, “I came for you because I love you. I came for you because you need me and I find desperation attractive. I came to die so you might live abundantly, not just grip your existence. I came to bring grace and truth, to silence condemnation forever. I came because there is no…other…way.”
Will you open your hand and grab hold of the One who will cradle you in His arms forever?
