How many times have you thought or said, “I just want to please you, God?” I know I’ve said it. It’s the natural response to tasting the goodness of Jesus, the faithfulness of the Father and the power of the Holy Spirit.
God tells us how to please Him. It’s quite simple. Our flesh doesn’t like simple because we like to feel accomplished. We think we have to do something GRAND to please God, when really all it takes is faith—faith in Him alone.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him…
Not just in His existence, but in His nature. Believe God is for the believer, and that He is faithful.
for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently* seek Him. Hebrews 11:6, emphasis mine
*Did you know, in the Greek the verb “diligently seek” here means to seek the favor of God, aka grace (see Thayer’s Greek Lexicon G1567)?
Believe He is God and that He is good! And dare to approach Him, though we are undeserving.
That pleases Him!
