It seems the Lord has more to say about the ministry of the King’s table. Repeatedly, He spoke to me about healing, so that is the focus of this week’s prayer. Let’s pray…
Lord Jesus, You said when we’ve seen You, we’ve seen the Father because You only do what You see your Father doing.
And over and over we see You healing the sick in your earthly ministry until finally dealing with our physical weaknesses and diseases at the cross.
Our Father’s heart is for our health and wholeness.
But today many are sick, weak and dying among us. So we wonder if healing is still the Father’s heart, and if so, how do we embrace it?
Thank God You are the same yesterday, today and forever.
And because sickness and death are results of a fallen world, You view them as enemies. So You prepare a table for us in their presence. The same one You prepared for the disciples before going to the cross.
And We thank You there’s always room at the table for us.
Thank You for the bread and the cup and for teaching us to discern the difference. While the cup represents your blood poured out to pay for our sin, the bread represents your body beaten and broken with our ailments.
And You healed us with the stripes You suffered.
Receiving the bread reminds us of your heart to heal and your action backing it up. You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, and You invite us to receive healing at your table. Because as often as we eat and drink, we remember You: your nature, and your will for us and the reality of salvation to us who believe. And for that, we thank You.
So as part of our quest to surrender all, we surrender to You all the sicknesses and diseases plaguing us and our loved ones. They don’t belong to us, so we don’t own them as ours.
Healing is the children’s bread.
And we, the seed of Abraham by faith, are children of God and partakers of the inheritance. We praise You even now for your heart to heal and the table you’ve prepared. Help us prioritize your table—to fellowship with You regularly and to receive the bread and the cup as often as we’re able.
And may your life—your health spring forth speedily in us! It’s in your mighty name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
