Hold On! Jesus is a very present help in trouble. He fights for you!

Father, we are your people, set apart for good works You planned for us before You created us. You made us in your image to function like You in the earth. We are people of purpose and destiny!

But not everyone is happy about that.

We have an enemy who, because he hates You, comes after those You love, those who remind him of You. And he oppresses us with discouragement, seeking to cut us off from our destiny—to cast doubt on Jesus’ finished work on the cross.

But when the enemy comes in like a flood, You raise a standard against him!

And though we have this hope, it’s hard to hang onto in the fight. The attack on our thoughts and emotions overwhelms us with exhaustion till faith feels like the heaviest thing in the world.

So, it’s difficult to believe You fixed the fight in our favor.

We’re grateful that when our faith fails, yours never does. In those fights, we remember the battle is yours and you’re a present help in time of trouble.

So Father, help us remember to be still and listen for your strategy—the way of escape into victory. Remind us to be still, fully armored, and see the salvation of the Lord.

Give us strength to stand.
Help us hold on to truth.
Remind us we have peace with You, clothed in Christ’s righteousness.
Assure us no matter how small our faith, it is enough to shield us.
Remind us of the security of our salvation in Christ Jesus.
Recall your word to our minds and remind us to wield it with our mouths.
And lead us in prayer by your Holy Spirit.

But even when the truth escapes us, and we feel torment instead of peace, feel judged instead of righteous and utterly exposed by our lack of faith, and when your word escapes us and we don’t know what to pray—You fight for us.

And for every way the enemy comes against us, Jesus sends him running seven ways.

Jesus is our shield and defense. We’re never put to shame for hoping in Him.

With every victory our faith in You grows, we trust Jesus more and move closer to walking in the fullness of what You prepared for us.

God’s people always win!

Not one word You’ve spoken over our lives will fail. We have your word on that! So Father, we will forever give You all honor, glory, and praise. It’s in Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen!

Prayer inspired by Exodus 14:13.

Here at Vine Life Faith, we pray God’s Word to enjoy God’s will because His Word contains the words He’s obligated to. While we pray inspired by a particular verse, the prayer references multiple verses as the Lord leads. Please share this prayer with those who need it and if it blesses you or someone you know—say so in the comments. God bless you!
