For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Exciting 1st week of homeschool so far I must say! We’ve had some of everything; joy, enthusiasm and great achievement along with academic challenges, illnesses and computer issues, but through it all the grace of God moved among us like a gentle breeze keeping us cool under the pressure. We are off and running and enjoying the journey. My DADDY is awesome!!!
Well one morning this week, after asking the Lord for wisdom and thanking Him for the day’s grace, I told Him I was so glad I didn’t have to prove myself worthy to receive those things I asked. Almost instantly He shared with me that I didn’t have to prove myself worthy because He had established my value at Calvary.
‘Worth’ and ‘value’ are often used interchangeably but their difference is quite significant. I have some items that are not worth much monetarily but they are valuable to me for sentimental reasons. Someone else might not have paid what I did for them but knowing how much I would enjoy them I paid what I did for them.
I know I am not worth the price paid for my salvation. No one is. Yet everyone is so valuable to the Father that in His love and desire that none perish, He, and Jesus personally, paid an inconceivable price to redeem us from the garbage heap called sin. Jesus is the Father’s cherished and beloved Son. How precious are we that He judged Jesus -unto death- in our place and then raised us with Him in His righteousness! Oh you and I are valuable to God and His love for us is limitless. He made that clear at the cross. There is nothing else we can or need to add to warrant it.
