VINE PRAYER: PRAY GOD’S WORD TO CELEBRATE HIS CONSTANT WORK IN US

“Every day in every way, we get a little better.”
That’s true if we’re in the right hands. Let’s pray about it…

It is God who works in us giving us the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.

Father, You know us. And though You created us in your image, we act earthy, like the dust You made man from. It’s the part of us that works against us and the new life we have in Christ. The part that tempts us to rage, envy, gossip, and all manner of foolishness.

So, we’re grateful that you’re working in us. You who never sleeps or rests your eyes works in us a new desire. A desire contrary to our base nature. A desire reflecting our new position as the righteousness of God in Christ.

This is a work only You can do.

Because we know what it’s like to want to do right, but the more we try, the more we do the wrong thing. And like the Apostle Paul, we look to your Son for deliverance. We’re thankful You didn’t leave us in our miserable state.

You went to work in us.

And not only are You changing our desires, you’re giving us power to walk them out. Because of You we have the power to choose differently, to choose life. We’re no longer slaves to our nature. And we have your promise You won’t leave us half done.

No, You will work in us till we’re finished, which won’t be till Jesus returns.

So Father, give us eyes to see your progress in us and others. Keep us from discouragement as You develop us, taking us from glory to glory. And help us be still while You work, even when it’s uncomfortable.

We are your masterpieces.

Reveal your glory in us. It’s in the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Prayer inspired by Philippians 2:13.

Here at Vine Life Faith, we pray God’s Word to enjoy God’s will because His Word contains the words He’s obligated to. While we pray inspired by a particular verse, the prayer references multiple verses as the Lord leads. God bless you.
